April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month
Yesterday, CCPHD staff joined the Family Violence and Rape Crisis Services (FVRC) team and volunteers at the Stand Together Community Vigil in Pittsboro. Keep up the important work, FVRC!
April is in many ways the “Everything Health-Related Month.” In addition to Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month, April is Public Health Month, Tick and Mosquito-borne Disease Awareness Month, and STD Awareness Month. It is also a reminder of how connected all of these issues are and of the important role we as a health department can play in building healthier communities.
We are grateful for the partnerships we have with organizations like FVRC and the many community members, businesses, and groups who have worked with us to build a healthier Chatham.
